What brake pads are people using for the above ?
Currently using EBC but the brakes are terrible, they just don’t stop me very well
Cheers

It's not the pads... Its normal, they are crap brakes. It was a retrograde step not using the previous RD braking system.

Don't know if they will make much difference, you have a limited choice of pads anyway. Those brakes nearly killed me back in the day, I've had 4 RDs with them all equally crap. The two C models I rode could squeal the front and lock it up.. the only squeal from my E and F's was me. I have fitted another m/cylinder but not been out on the bike to try it (250LC cylinder) So cannot say if it's better. If not then brick and rope will double the braking..

Brick and rope ! Ha ha ha I might go belt and braces and go rope and anchor Why are they so crap though? Don't know if they will make much difference, you have a limited choice of pads anyway. I'm no engineer, but it's probably due to having one piston, surface area, pressure and m/cyl sizing. And most probably cost!

Is there any upgrades like the blue spot calipers on the LC’s I ask because the brakes are seriously dangerous and take away the enjoyment of owning the bike ? I'm no engineer, but it's probably due to having one piston, surface area, pressure and m/cyl sizing. And most probably cost!

Someone must of done a calliper change, air cooled site might offer some info. It is possible to do a twin disc conversion. Have you got braided hoses, no air in system?

I changed the master cylinder for a modern one and the brakes are good. So it does not look original but it works.
Loads on ebay from china about £15

I put a pair of ypvs f2 forks on one years ago . This involved shortening the stanchions . I suppose you could use the lowers on the 250e stanchions . You could sell the ypvs stanchions on . Even with the 250e m/cylinder the brakes are really good.

Hi, I run the early ypvs (lc2 their shorter) forks on my aircooled E. They fit into the standard yokes (both 35mm) and allow you to mount 2 calipers. The standard RD wheel has the facility to mount 2 discs but I can not recall if I used standard discs at this point.
I have now gone a step further and have used the Ypvs wheel and added caliper brackets with R1 brakes, it really stops now!
