What a beautifully detailed bike. Lovely paint (not to my taste, but beautifully done). Titanium nitride legs, radial calipers, and clearly a boat load of cash spent etc. But mismatched wheels? A big no no from me. Jon

Over to Johnny 😁. I’ve loads of books on that period about the actual race bikes, statistics etc etc for me mid 70’s to late 80’s is my fave period of race bikes, Gp bikes, Endurance racers, AMA super bikes etc

Found this when looking at info on the bike (The rider didn’t have to put his feet down at intersections because two small so-called “idler wheels” could be lowered by a pedal as the “autocycle” slowed. The effect was similar to today’s Piaggio’s MP3 scooter.)

Hub centre steering..? marti Found this when looking for info (Although the Militaire is often described as having hub-center steering, it doesn’t. Militaire literature describe it as a “pivoted front axle.”
