Yes, I see what you mean
Its not further up the pipe behind the rearsets at all
If it is, or even isn't thats a long length of exhaust without any support
You'd think it would bounce around like crazy

Are there any video clips of this bike I wonder? Is it for real or just a computer/photo mock up??

Kar Lee computer generates these images, to imagine old bikes being remade today. It's called "Retro reboot" I think. So not a real bike sadly Dusty

So not a real bike sadly Dusty Ah,.....too many steps away from being a proper bike then, he/someone needs to actually bring it to life then, until that happens and questions like how the tail pipe is attached to the rear of the bike for example are answered, who can tell if it's actually a viable design??

It sure is viable. Look at all the hybrids being built on here!

It sure is viable. Look at all the hybrids being built on here! Alex Yes, I'm sure it is but each one has it's own problems to solve before hand and none of these bikes are aimed at the mass market/going into production. If there were a chance of being able to order a brand new LC I'd want to at least see one that's already been built in the flesh, ideally a test ride too.

An awful lot of the rebuilds here are for all intents new bikes just about the only thing original on mine is the frame and case, fork lowers and yokes just about everything else is brand new.

Earthman I know what you mean and yes I'd like a test ride too. But seeing 2 strokes are no longer allowed to be sold here new...it's never gonna happen!

Alex Well that last part isn't strictly true, KTM make a 2 stroke bike that you can legally ride on the road. If they can make such an engine to pass the latest emissions etc, why couldn't Yamaha??

Didn't know about the KTM and very surprised to hear we can still get a 2 stroke brand new over here. However, the LC, cult bike that it is...if Yamaha ever did make another it would be a very, very niche market. And quite probably a very expensive bike too. The tooling to make new frames, wheels etc and a whole new engine to be made and developed. Time and a fistful of Yen. I bet everyone here and on every bike forum in the world would love them to do it...but will they? Has anyone emailed Yamaha Japan? Hell...I will lol.

Alex needless to say post up if you get a reply the KTM exc 250 and 300 have been fuel injected for two or three years now , which I would think makes them better on the emissions mart

Well. I tried. Believe me I really did. Finally found Yamaha Motors Japan with an English translation. Contact us it says...and then takes you to a page with FAQ on it. As far as I'm aware you simply cannot email them. I might try something sneaky and go to the careers page and see if there is an actual email addy but that might piss them off! I did type in 350LC and there was 1 reference, dated 1981. Whacko.

I think you'd need to find an 'in' via an English speaking person who lives in Japan or maybe via someone high up at UK's Yamaha HQ.
