i'm sure i read an article in a mag about a guy who built a replica of this Bimota frame for the GT as Bimota built so few, maybe only one or two, i might bee wrong! Nice find though Dusty Mouse

I think there's a TDR under there somewhere. Hey, got it off Facebook! Dusty, lemme know if this runs astray of the "spirit of the thread", and I'll take 'er down.

Hi Jim No problem here mate There is a Facebook page called something like "bikes n birds", but I've so far resisted joining that one too !! And feel free to post pics on here. The thread is all about posting pics that non Facebook users wouldn't see otherwise. There are so many different bike pages on social media that the library of pics is endless. I post pics of bikes I like the look of - all positive stuff generally, that hopefully evoke memories of our era of bikes, and maybe serve as inspiration for builds and projects, or at the least, just something nice to look at each day ! Obviously anything you post must fit within the boundaries of decency and the rules of the site, but apart from that, anything that "floats your boat" I reckon Dusty

Bimota made a 2 stroke? Cool Alex Bimota also made a few 2 stroke race bikes. YB1, YB2 & YB3 with either Yamaha TZ250 or TZ350 motors. YB1 was shown on page 2 of this thread. Bimota won the World 350cc Championship in 1980 & second in 1981 with Rider Jon Ekerold. The frame is rather special, as Yamaha TZ frames used to crack around the headstock, with very serious accidents.
so Massimo Tamburini pressurised the frame & fitted a gauge on the dashboard to show if any presure loss (1979)!
needless to say, they didnt crack like the Yamaha frames.
heres a link to some history for you. www.bimotaspirit.com/bimota-yb3-rougerieYB3. Also Bimota HD1 Aermacchi/Harley Davidson Best regards Johnny C.

Well, I found that bike...or the same pic on a site called KZR. Some chap asking about doing that mod and someone else posted a load of pics of zeds with a single sided swinger (try saying that pished). Still can't find an actual build thread.
