Pipes not fitted 🙁
Footplates need spaced out so the pipes clear the swing arm 😖

Couldn't do much else so just filled with coolant, 2 stroke oil and gearbox oil
Then bled the pump and set the cable adjustment
Can't fit the tail panel as waiting for the spacers that go under the bolts and the grab rail rubbers
Also waiting on a front brake switch ☹

Oh and I intended to use a rebuilt fuel tap
Had a used tap and a rebuild kit but then my parts guy offered me a new one for £65 and I thought WTF, I'll use the rebuilt one on the next build

2 steps forward, one back Fitted a battery today to test the electrics before fitting the headlight Found the left Indy warning and the Speedo illumination not working so dropped the headlight shell and managed to get the clock back off. Bulbs were fine, just the bulb holders needing a little tweak All back together and fitted the headlight and everything works That's the 2 forward steps Steve

Now the backward step I'd managed to fit a Suzuki speedo into the lc clocks and all was fine other than the face sits a couple of mm higher but seemed ok The needle had the usual upward bend so I heated and carefully straightened it, put it all together and all worked fine Noticed tonight the needle had went back to its bent shape. Connected a drill to the cable to check it and you guessed it, it hits the glass and sticks 🤬 Speedo back out, innards removed and mile gears removed, transplanted into the kmh one I started with and fitted the mph face so now reads mph and records miles I've had enough for tonight, I'll fit it tomorrow Steve

Some niggles sorted Footplates spaced out 12mm now so exhausts clear the swingarm Had to order longer bolts which took ages and a longer stainless gear change pivot bolt. Post is dead slow just now and so many sellers not trading Still got an issue with the brake pedal side as the pedal hits the lower bolt so ordered a countersunk bolt and a countersink tool to cut the footplate so it will clear Pipes also hit the lug on the stand bracket so supported the rear with a block of wood and used a tyre lever to force the pipe over and make a nice dink for clearance Brakes all bled now with no real pain so happy days Just need to tweak the side stand as the foot just grazed the pipe I had 2 stands. One had a bit ground out at the fork which I didn't understand at the time, got them both powdered and fitted the one without the cut. Now realise it would allow the stand to retract further so should clear the pipe. Either that or I'm sure I have a Triumph one I could try Also need to remove the centre stand 🙁 Found out that since I've jacked the rear the stand doesn't hit the stop on the exhaust but it hits the H link of the suspension before it gets to the pipe I'll keep it on till I've fitted the bodywork and can double check all is ok after start up Steve

Cheers guys
Yes not far to go now. I fitted the correct old style battery wires yesterday and fitted the strap. Was intending to buy a new battery but no idea if my local dealer (10 miles away ) is open and not exactly as "essential" journey so the one I bought last year for my hybrid will have to do.
Initial start up may happen today (nothing stopping it) but got another couple of jobs I may do first
Fit the new tap and grommets to the tank (after a quick swish with white spirit to get any painting debris out)
Paint the lower bit of the side panels satin black
I'll leave the mirrors till it moved round the front of the house as the side path is narrow.
Steve

Cheers Mark Just realised something is stopping me starting it up I've no petrol 😂 Steve Pmsl,I realised that the other day so took a list to Tesco as a cover story 😂😂 I thought I had a get out of jail card as my biggest customers equipment just failed on a configuration error so one of the canbus modules has went down. Only I can fix it It was in Edinburgh so I thought if I went to site I could get petrol on the way out, then I pass Falkirk where my local dealer is so I could maybe get a battery and oh I have another ypvs engine to collect 😉 Just called the site and they are going on furlough tonight so they don't need me 🙁 Steve

That is looking shexy Mr crisis. Oh and another feckin engine? What for this time? Why thank you kind sir 😁 I bought another engine as I am about to build the engine which is in bits in the garage for my other hybrid Now we all know it is mandatory to have an engine in bits so I thought I'd better comply with the regulations 🤣 Steve
