Then moved on to the horns Made a bracket that bolts to the lower yoke for an LC twin horn bracket to bolt to, fitted the bracket then new horns. Had a 2nd hand horn bracket cover which will have to do as the replacement ones have all dried up Steve

Clocks built and fitted The lc2 loom works quite well in the lc clocks All worked out nicely. Couldn't use the new Speedo cable I had as the top metal section was too long to allow it to bend to clear the headlight bowl Had a used one that was shorter so fitted that Steve

The Lc clocks always look great dont they. Much nicer than the later versions as they hark back to the 70s and not the move in the 80s to be race inspired etc.
Renthal ultra lows Steve?

Yes they are 758 ultra low I'm pleased the way the clocks have turned out I first tried them on top of the bracket as I thought it would be better but didn't like the gap it left at the headlight Changed it to below but that meant the clock bracket had to go between the headlight bracket mounts and the yoke and it was already tight there Ended up swapping the stem lock nut set up with the one on the other fazer front ended build It has a rubber damper between the 2 castle rings and then a locking tab over both so that gave me the extra couple of mm spacing I needed I may have to swap out the Speedo as I've used a Suzuki one with an LC face and it sits a couple of mm higher in the case so my concern is the needle will touch the glass The needle has the usual upward curve that they do and I ain't trying th bend it lol I've already broke 1 needle and that was with the plastic bag method and it still broke the end off π I have a kmh one so at worst I'll swap the face and fit mile gears Steve

Spent a while last night with wiring diagrams from an f2 and an lc2 getting the f2 switchgear to work on the 29l loom Left hand no bother but a couple of wires on the kill switch and the lights switch on the right are different colours but all sorted Steve

Had the same issue when I was sorting the F2 switches for the LC2. Burst my chops for a bit but got there in the end. Pity I eventually ditched them and fitted the original switches as I had the wrong throttle tube. Nice tidy job on the wiring Steve boy π

Fitted the switchgear tonight along with a new clutch perch and a billet lever from a Fazer Needed 2 small spacers made as the lever is thinner than the ypvs one at the pivot so fitted 1 each side to fill the gap Its a right bitch to get the perch on as the knurled section of the bars is thicker Fitted the clutch cable and now found the clutch arm on the engine doesn't line with the marker so I have way too much play. I'll have to take the cover off and have a look π Steve

This is looking great Steve and I am thoroughly enjoying each step as you go along. I have a kmh speedo and was wondering how easy it is to convert over. I am a bit of a clumsy type and wouldnβt want to fu#k things up however I have noticed you have done a few now. Are the parts readily available for the face and meter mechanism? John

John Hi John The face is from Simon Wells and is Β£60 the pair. Proper replacement faces, not decals The gears to convert the distance is sometimes a gamble. I've used a few different Speedos as donors but on occasion I've bought a donor and found the internals are different FZR ones are different, I've used 125 lc and I think ypvs too. There are some similar Suzuki ones too The biggest risk is getting the needle off as the lc ones tend to break I've done over a dozen but I've broke 2 π Steve

Looks fantastic! Apologies if you've already mentioned this, but did you paint or powdercoat the frame?

I have seen some replacements out there at less then Β£60 but don't want to buy sh*te items John

Pulled the clutch cover back off and adjusted the clutch correctly so cable fitted correctly and adjusted Found out a TZR 3MA front muddy is the same and they make a red one so managed to find a new one at a decent price Fits nicely, even has a hole for the Speedo cable guide π Steve

Another little bit of the puzzle completed Fitted the electric plate with regulator on the rear and the later ypvs cdi on the front I had a faulty early cdi so I cut one of the leads off it and soldered it onto the corresponding wires on the later cdi The other 2 connectors are fine as they are from the stator which is the later type. Only little thing was that the earth wire from the stator needed changing from a male to a female bullet to fit the early loom Steve

Have you got a wiring diagram for putting lc clocks into a 31k loom? Bike looks mintπ The loom I used was a 250 ypvs but near enough the same as the 83/84 31k lc2 To fit the lc clocks I used the 2 clock looms that are originally fitted to the 31k lc2 so is plug and play really I had to cut the sheath back a little on one to allow a bit of extra length on the Speedo light. The lc2 has 3 clock lights fitted and the lc only 2 but I just left the bulb out of one and stuck it in the extra warning light hole The only wiring you have to do is the 3 temperature gauge wires. I just cut the 3 way plug off the gauge and fitted bullets to join it up. The 3 wires are the same colours so easy Hope that helps Steve

Brave boyπ Looks like you got away with it though π Seemingly so π Thankfully the laminated decals are thicker so more forgiving when it comes to bubbles and doesn't stretch if you have to reposition Steve
