As she's finished I thought I'd post her life in my care...
Bought in december 1989 as the work bike, to save my TZR250 from the salt n crap.
This is the earlest pic I can find but the bars and rad grill I had already put on it.
First real mod was to loose the ugly front mudguard. I used a slightly damaged one from my TZR
I fitted my old 250lc pipes that were well scuffed and had been under the grass cuttings for a year or so. The next thing was to paint it, paint on the tank although cool was pretty beat up and also the side panels and tail were cracked or broken.
But I couldn't bring my self to paint over the Eddie on the tank. So a complete set of body work from a breakers.
this is the paint job I came up with.
next was to find some better pipes I got some F2 pipes from a breakers and made them fit they were really heavy and had been down the road and the end cans pretty dented so I filled the dents with car body filler... needless to say it didn't last long before it fell out.
Then I found a good set of 350LC pipes and gold paint. the obsession with red black and gold had started.
the lockheadfront brake was ok but was always binding, and pads were hard to get hold of.
So I bought a Harrison 4 pot made to fit my bike this was way better
and thats pretty much how she stayed apart from TZR front pegs and a new rad grill.
At this point I'd fell in love with her so much that I hated riding her in the winter. So I needed another work bike so I got a 85 F1 power valve for work.
and then outta spite she wouldn't start no spark!!!
so hatched a plan to strip it down and make major mods RGV swinger etc.
but as Casy stoner once said my ambition outway'd my talent. That was 1993

Those ugly - but popular - front mudguards look a bit better if they've been fitted the right way round

Jump forward to new years this year and I dragged the motor from the corner of the garage where it had sat since we moved in 96.
I turned the kickstart, and it turned over! and so the rebuild began.
and here she is finished still black red n gold.
yesterday she passed her MOT long story but I'm glad I kept her in those box's

Brilliant story and great pictures Timark.
Not many people have had the same bike for 30 years and got it looking as good as yours is now.
Well done buddy

Hi Mark, Great story, pics and write up. Be prepared for the "I used to have one of them" types, that will approach you now, every time you go out on it ! Steven.
