Hi chaps,
is there a better alternative than the incandescent normal bulb found in these headlights. They were not very good years ago and not much better now. With the invention of LED's for bulbs in everything now would people happen to know a good alternative that is low power draw as well. Don't want to have to wire in a HID one as that's a bit overkill for what I need. Just a decent Bulb if anyone has a ebay link.
Thanks in advance.

Its usually illegal to run something more powerful like LED/HID in the old incandescent reflector so I usually try and find one of those +130 or even +160 old style bulbs to avoid the law looking at me funny.

I run led headlight bulbs and taillight bulbs in every bike I own. By far the best upgrade you can do. The led bulbs will follow your headlight pattern perfectly. Don’t use a HID bulb as they are not designed to be used with a normal headlight. The HID just annoys oncoming drivers due to glare.

Just choose the color you want and one without a fan. Fan is not durable. I reused the yellow glass for vintage look.

From what I've gathered, the reflector inside the headlight plays a big part, older lights were just not designed to use LED's so the beam pattern/output just won't be as good.

Not sure if I can get it out or not, if not any suggestions on a replacement headlight as this ones as much use as a candle riding through the country lanes at night.
