good evening gents, I'm back into my rz350 project bike....
my nice new chambers don't clear my gsxr swinger and I'm looking for advice.
strategic denting, or cut, weld, and re-coat them? i have a great fabricator who i can pay to cut and weld them.
OR
i have a large variety of hammers i can hit stuff with. not just a B.F.H. but peen, planishing, forming, creasing, etc. i also have a large hydraulic press and oxy acetylene torch too
I'm getting married in October so money is tight and I'm in the process of selling some spare parts to fund the paint job. IF you were to take a hammer to a set of chambers how would you suggest doing it right? IE: how would you only dent the section the needs clearance? i could use the old pipes for a pattern/guide they are nearly the same and i think the previous owner let the swing arm dent them up.
Also the new fork tubes i put into my upside down forks leaked out of the threads. any sealant suggestions? all the seals are good just need to seal up the threads
thanks in advance for any advice!

Post a picture of where they clash.
I can’t see why you can’t simply space out the footrest hangers?

Depends on how much they fouling, I had to put a small dent in a set of Jim lomas mild steel chambers to clear chain run on an air cooled hybrid I built. They pretty thin gauge steel and I got a nice smooth dent by using a nylon mallet, doesn’t look out of place, mind you because of where it is you got to look hard to see it. Baz

i'll mock up the chambers today and snap some pics. right side looks like minimal contact, but left was much worse if memory serves. i never noticed those dents from the swing arm with my old chambers but they were rough looking in general. i found this when chasing an odd vibration when revving the bike while on the lift. its sitting properly on it's own now i have tarozzi rear sets, a gsxr 600 swing arm and toomey chambers. the chambers and swinger are freshly powder coated
thanks for the help!

jon, you nailed it. thank you! the left side rear set, foot rest mounts must of been bent inward when my friend laid the bike down. i spent so much time massaging the right side mounts to get the brake mc and rear set position right, i never noticed the left was off i'll post pics later but with some work i think i can get this corrected without major surgery. i have to lift the bike to pull the forks. when i do i'll check clearance at full extension of the shock have to upload my pics, but it looks like a bike again

I bought loctite 565 thread sealer for the lowers on the upsidedown forks. Anyone have any experience using it? Says good for up to 3" pipe, roughly 76mm
