Hi, just bought a house near Stoke (Bradeley) and the main stopc**k is seizes. If it was copper each side I could do it but lead on the supply side which is something I can’t do.

If you can turn the water off outside you could cut the old one out and use a Lead Lock to go from Lead to Copper, if it's in the middle of a Lead pipe you could go from Lead to a Copper stop c**k and back to Lead, have a look on youtube.
Hope this is of some help.

Or just leave it and cut a valve in above if there’s a short piece of copper.

Mine was seized, and had lead supply in, so turned off the supply outside, then just removed the tap part from the body of the stopc**k, recut the sealing surface, and fitted a new tap part from an identical stopc**k. Now working fine! :-)
