Went to the Isle of Man for a long weekend to watch the TT, came back monday night. All i can say is awesome. Each time i go i can't believe how fast these lads go. To maintain that pace for such a long time, and have balls of steel. Stood outside the Mitre on the entrance to Kirk Michael village on friday night and i felt sick watching them - they were skimming the kerbstones at 140mph+. Went to view at the bottom of Bray hill on sunday, and was yet again stunned at the pace they travel. If you have never been to the TT i would recommend it before the safety police ban it forever.

Ditto all the above. The speed is amazing. When you are waiting at your viewing point, you are waiting by a quiet, empty road and in your minds eye you visualise the bikes arriving around a corner, past you, and disappearing around the next corner. But when they do arrive you never imagined they would be going that fast.

Me and the wife have been going for about six years now. This year we went from wednesday of practice week until monday of race week. It really is the greatest free show on earth!
Attendance numbers were the worst ive ever seen though this year, hope this improves soon as it is part of the enjoyment, especially on Mad Sunday.

i was there from 6th to 14th all of race week, numbers were definitely down this year tho the powers that be tried to say they werent its the quietest i've known since 1991 when i first went apart from the foot n mouth saga, one of my favourite places to watch was the bottom of barregarrow the top lads com through there at about 160 everything bottoms out the tyres squash almost to the rims and they just keep it nailed its awesome, spectating was stopped there a few years ago but i noticed people there this year so might be worth the trip next year,if you park your bike at the crossroads at the top you can also get to the bungalow its a real back road but can be done, its also the 13th milestone if you're that way inclined it could put you off a bit but the racers just seem to ignore it complete madmen.Mad Sunday on the mountain was very busy with lots of halfwit boy racers in saxo's and the like you just never know what they're going to do next i did 2 laps and got out of it,it wasn't much fun.

i went 4 years from 1978 until 1982 i always found the best time to have a go at a fast lap was very early in the morning ,during the week. set your alarm clock for daybreak 04.30 ish. i have been back to the manx gp for daytrips twice. i stopped going to the IOM because it was costing more than a week abroad. i have been going to Ireland to watch the road racing for the last 10 years instead. Ulster GP, NW200,Kells,Skerries, Athea and also Mondello once. very enjoyable but now also very expensive,so i have stopped going there too steve
