Just thought I'd ask . Yow many resto's have the genuine mirrors? Not long ago I bought a heap of Air Cooled parts . Amongst all that stuff was a pair of LC mirrors I think. Pretty sure they are genuine. . If they're not let me know. thanks

They look like genuine Yamaha Euro mirrors. The UK ones had a knuckle joint at the handlebar end.

Being a German import I had Euro mirrors on my 250, I cut them down & re-threaded the ends to fit into a set of knuckle joints. You can pick up Yamaha mirrors with the correct knuckles on Ebay, they don't have to be 4L0/4L1 specific. Altough the left hand mirror on the bike is longer than the right (I swapped them around), I'm guessing this is to make it easier to see behind as they drive on the wrong side of the road over there .

Thanks boys. I'm in Australia and have no reason to think they were imported separate to a bike . Been in a box for over 20 years apparently. They are on my matching # LC now having swapped them over from the aftermarket ones that seem to go all sloppy and loose after a few adjustments. Sounds like they're worth a dollar or two?

I've wondered what's the reason for them too, surely it doesn't matter much what side of the road you ride on especially on a bike? If typically you mostly ride in the middle of it??

They look good to me Ken, I agree with you on the pattern ones that just come loose after a short time, when I got my LC it had a crappy old pair of chrome mirrors on it which I binned and replaced with a set of the pattern ones with the knuckle, after a few months they were pointing everywhere but were I wanted them too, so I bought a set that look like yours, again pattern ones from Yambits that are I think a copy from an RD 125 LC that a lot of people use, these were ok for quite a while but now the left hand one is pretty useless so I'm on the lookout for a set again Cheers Steve

i thought the genuine ones had olive green stems I know that's what it shows on Xaviers webpage, but I'm not sure it's correct, I've only ever seen the stems in satin black. Anyone know for sure one way or other?

Is it not to do with the mirror mounting points not being the same distance from the bar ends on both sides Steve

Look ok on the bike but junk. These gen ones do swivel on the ball but crikey they're tight. once they're pointing in the right direction they're not moving. I still cant believe I found them in a box of spares. Even got 3 sets of gen chrome a/c mirrors too. sometimes ya just get lucky..

Has anyone got original UK mirrors that they could measure up please? The copy’s you buy now are both the same size.
