I know that the 500 has 4 carbs, an oil pump and ypvs actuator all running off the throttle, but does anyone have any tips to reduce the very heavy feeling at the twist grip? The return springs on the carbs seem pretty strong. Just wondering if 'they're all like that'.
Also, any tips for replacing the HT lead, obviously from coil pack to plug cap: the ht lead seems to be held in by clips that are pretty hard to remove without breaking.
cheers, J

I found you had to route the throttle cable very precicely, trying not to get any tight spots, or sharp bends, and try to make it as smooth as possible. I found making it as wide as the frame rails helped, but did get a few problems when trying to fit the airbox cover 'thing'

My RG has a heavy throttle too I just think it’s the carb springs I don’t think there is anything I can do about it

Some make their own carb springs. Some modify their springs. You can do a test with 2 instead of 4 carb springs. The spring of the oilpump can be wrongly mounted. Test this without carb springs. May this give you about a feeling how much “spring strengthness” you want.

Have you ordered one of these elsewhere? Reason I ask is the seller doesnt ship to the UK.
