Hi all, I've recently got hold of a set of TZ astralites and I'm intending to use a 17mm front wheel spindle so I'm looking for one which will fit when I mod the original ypvs f2 fork legs. Anyone done this with their standard wheels/forks etc ? Thanks

I usually make top hat spacers for the bearings and use the standard spindle That way it’s far easier, but some 17mm silver steel and a die and you can make your own spindle You can also change the bearings for something more suitable Bearingboys.co.uk will be a good place to look for relevant bearing sizes

Thanks for the reply Mike, it's for my race bike so I was hoping to use the 17mm spindle to try to stiffen up the front end with other mods planned over the winter .....

Just make a spindle then easiest way , need to bore out the fork legs , but no great issue as long as there is enough meat there

Nick Chambers could probably make you a nice stainless one...

Early rd400 and sr500 were 17mm but not sure on length
Also fazer 600 is 17mm and most Definately longer so could be threaded further down then cut
