Well Thats it... The bike is 100% complete and ready for MOT. What a year and a half, what bloody expense. I know people had mentioned what they cost to build they are right, it was twice as much as I initially intended/thought. I am very proud of sorting all of the electrics out, it was a big fear, but just taking time to understand has been really enjoyable. What would I do differently.... not start with frame and bottom end... Essentially everything else on the bike is new. I am so pleased I did spend time on the motor and got the right people to port it and set it up. Thank you to all the people that advised along the way, Dusty, you have helped massively, in chats and also via your impeccable threads you create, and of course Dave for bringing it to life and getting 52bhp out of it.

Very nice indeed, that swinging arm is certainly beefier than the original one, like it.
Any dry/half sunny day even in the Winter, I'd be out on it.

After much deliberation, money and effort I will most likely be selling this bike. I know what I have spent and I know its worth, and what someone is willing to pay for it may be different, I am not desperate to sell, so it will have to be a price I think is fair.
Just a heads up in case anyone is looking for a finished bike, will consider offers before it goes publicly for sale after MOT.
The reason is I have a much bigger project to fund in the next year or so.

Hi Nick, you’ve done a fantastic job on this bike mate! Seems a real shame to sell it before you get the chance to use it! Good luck wth the sale.

Yeh I am quite a bit gutted, it was never my intention to sell, thats why I built it as good as I could. It did get a bit out of hand with the cost, as you will all be too aware I made a bit of a punt last year on a piece of land in a national park where myself and the family spend a lot of time. The land was refused planning before I bought it and I saw a loophole in the refusal, thats why I took a chance. Got news recently that I can "probably" build a log cabin, its something for my kids, and for me and the missus when the older years become a reality, so I have to make good choices now.. Ive got 3 kids between 2 and 9, and this would be such a great place for them to have memories of, so I hope you see the reasoning behind my decision... Go-on, I know many will say yes easy decision, get thrashing the bike!!

I dunno if what I'm about to say will actually help you with the log cabin/planning permission but I remember an episode of Grand Designs where they mentioned wheels. The cabin/dwelling they used were on wheels but they sunk them into the ground so it sure couldn't be moved easily, just the idea that it could be made it legal/pass planning permission.

Hi Nick I can think of no better reason then a cabin in the woods😉 It sounds idyllic and i hope it comes good for you. Im up in Ambleside at the mo - my first time in the lakes, and if i saw a plot of land here i could own that meant selling a bike, the land would win !! Gpod luck with the sale and well done on a truly stunning hybrid 😉

The main issue was access relating to visibility spalys, but I found structure within undergrowth which proved the junction was designed withing regulations, i just had to then prove the 85%ile speed, which I have now done 0.2 MPH within regulations!
