Just took off a 530 chain off my 1982 4Y3 and wondering 1- What the factory issued teeth number is for front & rear sprockets. (been thru Haynes manual back to front- can't find it) 2- If I was to convert to 520 chain would I have to change the sprockets that drove the 530. (Normally I would renew chain & sprockets by default but these sprockets seem in great nick worthy of taking a brand new chain. What I have: Front Sprocket is a 16 tooth 8.59mm width Rear Sprocket is a 39 tooth. left sprocket on wheel at tyre fitters not sure of width

Don't know the standard number of teeth on the sprockets. I'm sure someone else will be able to assist
You shouldn't be able to use the 520 chain on 530 sprockets (if that's what they are), 530 has the same pitch but is wider, has (slightly) larger diameter rollers and the chain has thicker plates. This is according to a DID catalogue. The 520 chain will probably be too narrow to fit the 530 sprockets and I think you already know you really should renew the sprockets when you put your new chain on.

Yes makes sense. and I should replace all the bits. Also the chain is potentially 30 years old. Would anyone run that up to 110mph? I'm not sure I will- PLUS, typical of me I took too many links off the old chain and would have to put in 2 links in to replace it. Idiot. FINAL question: I would support Norbo and just order from him but the post to the US will kill so need to find a supplier over here. So the Best 530 O-ring chain out there is......?

In a roundabout way I found the standard sprocket teeth number via Norbo's price list 350LC (STD) Standard Teeth Front 16 Rear 39
