Evening men. Well i finally bought the LC I was thinking about getting. It has had 4 previous owners, been sorned since 1990 and is on an A plate. It is a 12A but the odd thing is it has MK2/3 EVERYTHING!! See, now I'm thinking it must be an early registered MK2 OR someone has done a hell of a lot of work. lIKE I SAY IT HAS EVERYTHING, THE YPVS Servo bracket on the frame the loom to run the servo & controller. The bad points are it has the most ghastly paint job, black with purple/red/gold/green speckles and the black on the tank has crazed, And the grab rail, bars, tope yoke, light bracket and z brackets have all been painted gold The good points are the paint has preserved the tank and the chrome on the grab rail & light bracket. I will get the grab rail & headlamp rechromed though as there is some slight pitting. The engine is also excellent. My intention is to polish up the alloy get rid of the gold and do a black YPVS paint job on it. So here she is..... As you can probably guess it was originally white. So far I have DEOX-C'd the inside of the tank to keep it nice. Cleaned the powervalve Stripped the paint off the grab rail & fitted the YPVS Control box Ghastly paint job. Next up I am going to paint strip the tank, fork lowers, headlamp bracket, Z brackets & top yoke. Then get some etch primer on the tank and start to polish the fork lowers. Here is a little video of the ride home the day I picked it up. Was flat low down but once it hit 7k it went like a rocket. Now has fully working YPVS and is much better That's about it for now

before you get rid of the gold check if the wheels are original gold, if so keep them as originals are hard to find

I will leave the wheels gold, although i don't really like them, I have inquired about swapping them for a black pair with one of our helpful forum members

Always liked the looks of the 125LC. If you were 17 it was the pups nuts. Going to follow this one with interest.

Small update. Been hard at it paint stripping/Polishing Forks stripped & ready for paint removal along with tank Paint Stripped Tank Etch Primed Tank Sprayed Gloss Black with UPOL Power Can Aerosol. I bought this paint because the etch primer of theirs that i use is awesome & the gloss black was supposed to give a "professional finish" with great paint delivery. Not impressed. Had to hold the can about 6" away from tank to get any decent coverage, it spat like buggery & dripped onto one spot while spraying. I won't buy that again. Luckily this is just a temporary measure to keep tank covered until i get the whole spray job done. I will flat it down and polish for now. And finally...... One polished fork lower That's all for now folks

When I use rattle cans I always warm them in a bucket or hand hot (60*C) water for about 10 mins watching the can doesnt get to hot, while shaking the can every few mins and returning it to the bucket. Once warm the pressure is increased in the can and it tends not to spit.

Managed to source myself a 1GU Carb from greece. Wasn't any snow on it thankfully. But there was a whole load of tar like brown/black goo inside. The needle needed some pressure to push it out of the jet, the air screw was gummed in as was the float pin. I only really bought this for the internals but may use it depending what i find on the tzr carb currently in use. I have managed to strip the carb completely now, including removing the brass ball so next time i'm free it will be having a good scrub, spray with carb cleaner and a few cycles in the ultrasonic cleaner Amazingly the pilot jet and airways seem to be clear when spraying carb cleaner through.

Mick, are you sure the advert said a carb from Greece, or a carb full of grease? Jon

Took the carb off my bike that it was running. Apparently it was really clean from the guy i got bike off. It was boggy to pull away and the throttle and air screws seem to have had no effect. The emulsion tube was pretty much blocked as was the pilot. This is what was behind the ball It now starts first kick, picks up off idle well & idles nicely
