Whilst I have made a decision it would be good to hear members opinions on the following: I have a 400F that according to HPI checks was originally white/red and changed to competition yellow in 2004, no doubt personal taste when restored. If it were your bike would you: a) change colour back to original white/red b) leave in competition yellow

The white/red ones were faster than any other colour option so I would change to that for the extra few mph.

But then .. it's your bike .. just do whatever you want with it. Either colour looks great and if you park up at a bikers cafe or similar it will soon draw lots of attention.

Hello Mark I am going back to the original red and white. I would have left it yellow if that had been the original colour as it has been well done. However the bike should be what it was. It will be going over to Dave Whattams muttsnuts ,after this month for a service and get the paint job done at the same time

Must say, that for riding I do prefer the LC. I find the 400 more rigid.

Yes the bike is in very good nick. However I wanted it back to its original white/red. The yellow was okay and well finished, but once I knew its original colour I decided to change it back. It may seem a shame to undo some fine paintwork, but I am sure when it's done it will be in equally if not better condition.

My rd400 original colour is competition yellow, and as it’s going to be a special I am changing the colour to candy purple

Keep the yellow set and buy another set to paint white and red then you can switch between when mood takes you. I do that with my 350lc with a KR yellow set and an original bounty set.
