Hi All

Newbie here just buying a RD400e should be with me in a couple of weeks and looking forward to getting out and riding it
I have always been into my 2 strokes , I have had a a few 4 strokers GPZ600r (written off ) FZR600, but preferred my 2 strokes presently have a KH400 and just rebuilt a S3a which I am due to take out on it first every ride now its registered

You have probably heard this a million times but how hard is it to set up the oil pump I have heard story’s of pump been in correctly set up due to the wrong colour gearing should the 400e be a pinkish colour ?

Been a Yorkshire lad I do frequent the squires cafe at sherburn and probably met a few of you at the last 2 stroke meet

Welcome to the forum
We have an oil pump guru on the forum - Arrow - and what he doesn't know about pumps ain't worth knowing !!
Seriously, if you are unsure about your pump, Arrow can rebuild to better than new giving peace of mind and perfect operation for years to come.
Enjoy your new bike - I've had a couple of 400e's and loved them - great bikes

hi and welcome. as above, arrow will point you in the right direction.
i`ve had a few triples in my time and may get another one day. never had a rd400 but was always impressed with them.

Welcome Bigal, Arrow is you man for anything oli pump related but if you search the hot topics section on here there are some threads about how best to set them up properly iirc.

I am a fellow 400 fan (I have 3 atm) and am sure you will really enjoy yours. I also have an S3 that I really love too, so I compliment you on your taste! 😉
