How we all doing? I've a question, does anybody know if an rgv 125 front end is suitable for a 350 special build. I've a slight concern that the powervale might be too heavy for it. Any help appreciated, cheers

Hi I bought one - Rg125f to be correct. Looks like an Rgv250 usd front end. Couple of issues if you want to use a 250 wheel. Spindle size on 125 is 15mm, on the 250 it's 17mm. You can't get 15mm wheel bearings the correct size to put in the 250 wheel so you would need to bore out and re thread the 125 fork bottoms for a 17mm spindle, plus you need a 17mm wheel spacer and speedo drive from the 250. The bottom yoke stem is also shorter than a 250 item, so when you fit it to an Lc/Pv headstock there is very little thread for the top nut to cling to ! Really needs a stem swap. You cant just easily use a 250 bottom yoke as it's 52mm id for the fork legs and the 125 fork is 50mm. Too many issues for me so I bought a 250 front end instead. If you are happy to keep a single disc 125 wheel set up, then a stem swap is all you would need Dusty

Just to add, the mudguard is the same between 125 and 250, and the fork bottom on the 125 side without the disc is easily drilled for a caliper. Caliper spacing is the same as 250 too Dusty

Cheers Dusty, wealth of information there,I might go for it as it's a good price and in good condition, or will I hunt down a 250 front end.🤔

Hi I paid £60 for mine (forks, yokes, spindle and spacer and mudguard and brace). They are straight and leak free with no pitting. I've kept the muddie for the 250 front end. My 250 forks cost £270, yokes were another fair lump of money too, so with a bit of faffing, the 125 front end could be a bargain. Both yokes are alloy too. I think the fork legs may be slightly shorter than a 250 - I would have to check them to be sure, but only an inch at the most.
