A big bit of one of my panels has dropped off my RG500 - I think it's time to learn about plastic welding!
Is there a particular type of welding rod that I need to use with my soldering iron or are all panels made from the same kind of stuff please ?

Think you need either ABS welding rods, or a similar age panel to cut up and use, Can't you just get a replacemet panel? been a few on fleabay recently.

There are plenty on e bay but if it turns up and it's got cracks and splits in it, or if someone has just painted over the cracks and splits I might as well have just fixed my own panel. Thanks for the reply - have ordered some abs rods to have a try.

Wurth replast, much easier and you don't have to worry about heat or naked flames stuffing up the panel
