Hi all, I've got a problem with an RD400, the ignition won't turn off, both key and kill switch don't work but were working perfectly until yesterday, nothing has been touched or changed etc, any ideas? thanks.

You mean you can’t switch off/stop the engine with either kill switch or key? I’m guessing it’s an E or F with cdi?

This get's worse, now you can attach either HT lead and the individual cylinder will run fine, but attach both and it revs very high and won't turn off. Not something I've come across before.

for Points to make sparks 12v is switched onto the coils via key and kill switch. ultimately it results in 12v at the coil, then down to each set of points via orange and grey wires respectively. for the bike to run you must be getting power on the coils from somewhere else, probably a loom fault as first guess. sort that first then see what about the other situation.
