Wiring guru's. Advice needed. DT/RD loom swap.

I'm having a nightmare finding a good quality RD125LC loom.

I can get a new DT125LC loom, do the two wiring diagrams look like they would be difficult to convert it to run on an RD?

Keep on looking u,d need too add loads of extra wiring , not worth the hassle IMHO..

Main problems is that the alternator and related charging/ignition system looks quite different ....that will be the show stopper.

Damn. I was hoping it would be a case of just copying those parts from my old loom over on to the DT loom.

You may also have problems with where the connections are located as they may be just out of reach to connect up.

Cheers 4lo. I priced everything I need to have a go at fabricating my own loom, up for £70 odds so far, 5m of each coloured cable in the haynes manual wiring diagram should be enough hopefully, it's 70m all together.

If I remember correctly; You had blown up, coloured, wiring diagrams? You don't happen to have a 125lc one? This black & white diagram is giving me the fear.

Sorry, only got 4L0 diagram in colour. The early Haynes manuals had colour wiring diagrams, so maybe someone has an old Haynes RD125LC manual with one in?

Ohh I didn't know the older one had it in. I should have an old tatty copy in the shed somewhere, bought it on ebay like 10 years ago with Norbo's number written in the front page and that's how I found this site lol.

Where are the new DT looms available from ?

Ebay, £45 if I remember correctly. It's the same company that did the remanufactured 250/350LC looms, they get various reviews but I was willing to give it a try until I came across this other loom.
