Hi I saw that the other day, and started day dreaming about building a special, much like Paul Lumb's Tz Ypvs that was featured in Mechanics mag;  20180316_080528 by David Miller, on Flickr Then reality set in ! An awful lot of money would need throwing at it, I could never comfortably ride it and it would likely end up on the dreaded "Q" plate  Would make a stunning bike though  Dusty |

Not all that far off now, its one of the cheapest bikes I've ever built, had it 25 years so got it for nowt, decided to go with full lights etc, its road legal and it is ace. Andy |

I went to see one years ago in Middlesbrough. It had the Rotax tandem twin engine and Astralite wheels. Not a complete bike but he only wanted £600 quid for it. I didn’t buy it for some reason !

I thought about it and I reckon that picture is 20 years old and at thats as near to becoming a bike as it ever got, I will have this bike on the road and track this year though, its getting late though and it'll have to be unpainted, which might be cool in its own way. Really miss me Spondon race bike complete with supertuned RD engine , Sold it about 5yrs ago now for £1100 after refitting 350g engine just before I realized my Gamaha chassis was broken at nearly every major bottom weld hit a car at 50 ..So much potential wasted..

Got a nice Ohlins equipped R6 front end that would look nice in here along with either me 443 Banshee / RD lump or me TZ.ed 350 lump !!!! even got the Mrs approval which is no mean feat...if I wish too proceed...

Use a 2ma/1kt delta box, Ypvs fits in relatively easily. PV servo mount alreday in the right place...

Oh what a lovely nostalgic bike, with all the right bits on.
Shame the paintwork is absolutely dire. The more I look at the paint, the worse it is.

The Yamaha Red n yellow paint was super smooth n bright in real life as for the vinyl stripes yeah absolute crap but hey that's how I bought it an as it was used for racing that's how exactly how I left it...Money was more wisely used on up keep of engine an sticky tyres.... |
