I've noticed that his highly priced bikes and other parts have been on there for months now, same can be said for a couple of other sellers.
These sellers don't really want to part with their items I feel.

It's just greed, pure and simple ! Frames are becoming one of the harder to find parts in good condition, with paperwork, correct numbers and everything straight and intact. £5-600 seems the going rate nowadays for the "right" Lc frame. You don't see loads on ebay and when there aren't too many about you'll find the vastly overpriced parts appearing. Unfortunately Ebay is used as the price yardstick for the majority these days, and there is probably as many, if not more people that don't use forums who wont know the true value we put on parts, so some do pay. And if it does sell to some one looking to relive their youth, then all other frame sellers see £1k as the, starting point. It's gonna destroy our hobby for definite. Trying to build a bike from buying parts is gonna be ridiculously expensive now Dusty

I have been looking at the possibility of buying another LC to restore and am surprised at some of the prices for bikes and parts to the point of thinking can I afford to do a full restore. There is definitely a few eBay sellers ripping buyers off.

I think if you want to do a resto for reasonable money the key is to buy the most complete bike you can, even if its a dog. It's cheaper to restore tatty parts than buy new. Very rewarding too.
If possible try buy the bike with the hard to find/expensive parts (think coil covers, battery straps, uncut muddys, uncut number plate mount, uncut rear subframe, tool tray, centre stand, mph clocks, etc)

Asking price is £695 now. Just noticed that myself....! Highly likely he is on the forum and has read the thread..that and the lack of interest in the asking price of course..

I agree with Dusty that around £500 seems to be the going rate for a legit frame with a V5. At least that’s about what I’d pay/have paid.
Unfortunately people see higher prices and think their less desirable frame is worth the same. If it does sell to desperate people (or at least is seem to) the price spirals.
To build an LC from the frame up is likely to cost around £4.5k IF you do ALL the work yourself. Up to double if you farm it out.
An honest together bike is a better bet (if you can find one).

And yet sadly so many people (even on the forums) think that a done up LC should be a cheap purchase :/ Its not just the work you have to do yourself, but the locating of the parts. How many hours do we spend googling/ebaying/norbo shopping and trying to find nos parts by asking around... and then pay up for them when someone finds them lol.
