Apologies in advance if I am asking a question that has been discussed previously. i am looking for tips on winter storage of RD400F. I have put the battery on the optimate. Removed fuel and drained carburettors It is stored indoors, sheeted down. Thank you in advance for reading and providing advice. Martin

If it's indoors it will be fine, think you have it all covered
Personally I would not leave a battery charger on all the time
I have done it in the past but last week my painter lost £60k of stuff when his garage burnt down.
Fire investigation blamed it on a battery charger

Steve many thanks. The charger is not on all the time, so hopefully fire risk reduced. Hope your mate had good insurance!

I take my batteries out and charge off the bike every few weeks in winter.

Don't imagine it was a newer type but anything electrical can catch fire
Once had a customer that had a bad fire.
They said it was the till that caused it. She was shocked as it wasn't plugged in but they said it had a battery so didn't matter
