Sounds strange, but i have not seen a hybrid in the flesh until yesterday at the Stafford show, so i was keen to make as many notes as possible for my first build.
I am waiting for a load of parts to return so i can start the powdercoating and rolling chassis build, so I am in the process of thinking about electrics.
A chap had a very nice Martini hybrid and he eluded me to the Motogadget M-Unit. I have done some research and it really does look some piece of kit, I reckon I could even get to grips with it.
My only concern would be connecting it to the ignition system. So my questions are...
Has anyone done this
How difficult is it to wire in the ignition system
The cost compared to a loom seems comparable (ish) - i was going to buy all new switch gear and a new loom (from LC Club)
To get the lights on the clocks to work, is it just a case of piggybacking the output of the particular function to a bulb/led in the clocks.
Or is this a world of hurt, get a loom and plug away?
My other concern right now is clocks, looking at the LC's on display, I do prefer the LC clocks, but they are bloody expensive. If I get the clock casings is it simple enough to add after market dials? I have no speedo cable, so will most likely run a koso magnet type, I could use my existing tacho on another dial.
Any suggestions/solutions welcomed, or if anyone has sorted this problem out I would be interested to know the options.
I have also realized, all of the jobs are expensive, not just the major ones..... this is going to take some time to get completed.....
Many Thanks
