I am looking at options for a race ignition for an air cooled RD 350. A high priority is reliability, of less importance is the ability to programme advance curves.
Two units I have found are the HPI 068K089 and the Electrex World STK-043.
What are your experiences with these units?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Signal
I run an Electrex world unit on a Honda K4 race bike and find it reliable, simple and so far bulletproof. I have many friends that run them on similar race bikes..with good reliability and performance..It makes good power and I am not sure by spending any more I would achieve anything any better......I have one small issue, is that when I have requested any after-sales advice from them, they have been very poor in communication, and to be fair the questions I have had have been self answered by myself whilst waiting for the never arriving replies.... quite frustrating... I am in the same dilema at the min as I am in build with a YPVS track bike and quite like the thought of using one of their units for this, just cant bring myself to press the buy it button... pretty sure I will as all I want is a good straightforward ignition system, not to fussed about the programmable maps as I am sure my ambition is far better than my ability.... Good luck and I will be interested in following anybody else's thoughts... pretty sure their will be some horror stories about customer service as there is plenty well documented on internet.... but my experience on how the product works is good.... Hope this helps

For racing a Powerdynamo Magneto ignition is a good option. I use them since 2012 and I'm very happy with it Regards Siggi

As far as I'm aware Electrex and HPI are one of the same......Electrex are the sole UK dealer of HPI products

Thanks for the replies, from Budgie's reply I am tending towards the HPI unit as I have heard they have good customer support.
One other requirement is that the ignition have two coils ( making a special, in line 4 using 2 dual output coils) the power dynamo is a good unit but uses a single coil.
Some of the components look very similar when comparing the Electrex and HPI ignitions but the source coils look a lot different.
Thanks for the offer of the Femsa but I will pass on that. The deliberation continues...
