Hi all can you please advise I have a really loud whining coming from my speedo at first just a noise now the needle is all over the place

Bad news is that it's about to sh1t itself.
Start looking for a new speedo

Not had it personaly buthe the usual way they fail
Sometimes if you catch it early oiling the internal mechanism sorts it
Don't think I've ever done enough miles to knacker one 😔

Hi, i had the same thing, not so much a whine as a really loud screaming!! Also i went fom 40MPH to 70 to 120 plus and back to 90 all without touching the throttle!
To remedy, i put some greese up into the drive on the back of the speedo where the cable goes in and several hundred miles later, she is still good

This happened to me om my rd400 i undid speedo cable turned speedo up side down put a few drops of oil in there left over night never had a problem since.  |
