Used to have an early one, with nice scorpion race cans on. I loved it, but my missus hated it as I could only get comfy over about 80mph and the wind hurt her neck.

Bike has arrived safe and sound and had a break in the weather to have a quick try. First impressions are very heavy clutch and useless brakes everything else is great though. Engine braking is out of this world and it is deceptively fast, going along not feeling fast and then a quick glance at the speedo and I was nearly doing 61mph so backed off sharpish. All the torque you could want but very different to anything else I have here.

Nice I'v got one too ,the common red colour with a TLR swingarm , showa shock conversion and Yoshi RS3 (Ear bleeding loud ) , belly pan etc . Want to do a Gsxr1000 fork conversion over the winter and put R1 radial calipers on it for fun . Is that a R1 shock conversion on yours ? how do you rate it ?

I used to have a TL1000S, and I was gutted when I had to sell it (no job, big bills). Mine was the British Racing Green one, and it was the first batch with unrestricted ECU and the full fat 120hp motor. God it was quick. Agree about the brakes, they were only adequate over 20 years ago. Tried braided hoses and Ferodo race pads and improved it a bit, but still not brilliant. And that bloody 'door-closer' shock. What were they thinking of? But the motor was a monster. I loved it.

Digging through some books the other day and I found my completely virgin copy of the TL1000S Suzuki service manual. Β£20 posted for anyone that wants it.
