Hi Chaps Got a bit of bother with my TRX850. Had been running fine with no issues until the other evening. Went to take it out for a ride and had trouble starting it. Finally got it going but it smelt like it was flooded. Anyway set of and it was very lumpy under 3k rpm ish and struggles to tick over. Carried on a bit further hoping it would clear but it didn't so I returned home. Got home. Removed the lh spark plug (easiest one to get to) and it was coked up with dry black soot. Figured ok running too rich. Air filter blocked maybe (knew it wasn't dirty as I had previously checked it on a service). Anywsy not blocked either. Then whipped out the RH plug as it was the same, dry black soot. Decided to check fuel tap vacuum valve was working ok which it was, then proceeded to check that choke was working ok, which it was. Thought to myself well it's common on both cylinders so it's unlikely to be carbs but I checked cleanliness off jets and float needles etc . All ok! Put it all back together and bike now ticks over as is a should be. Did 15 miles on it with no issues. Don't get it!!! I haven't really changed anything other than cleaning plugs. Why were they so black? The only thing I had done in between knowing the bike was running fine and then suddenly become lumpy was change the oil. But I can't see how that would make any difference. Drained old oil and checked level properly as I have done many times before Thanks in advance
