This is for 4l0/1, I see the fork bushes are available for a 125 and 500, but not for either 250 or 350, anyone have a source or bought some recently please?? Got some s/h forks and think the bush has been pushed in too far, it goes tight further down the leg (the bush isn't flush with the outer leg) leg isn't bent as I tried another one.

The ones in the legs? If so Ive just made a tool to cut these DU bushes down from the standard sizes, the problem is they are 15mm tall and the only stock ones you can get are 20 or 40mm. Ive yet to perfect them, but I might offer some for sale if im happy with the results.
Tho, it has to be said the bush im talking about cannot be pushed in further as it sits on a land inside the leg, so you need to put up a pic to be sure of what your problem is.

Hi, When I looked into this, I was told that new bushes for 4L1/4L0 forks were never available, and if you wanted new bushes, you had to buy the complete lower fork leg. As said above, there is a Glacier DU bush that is the correct size, but has to be cut down from 20 mm long to 15 mm long. The bush is a Glacier 32 20 DU. Here are the pics of the tool I made years ago to cut the Glacier bush down to the correct size on a lathe. I have had these bushes in my forks for years and the cut down DU bushes work perfectly. I work in the factory that developed and made DU bushes, amoungst other stuff. We dont make DU bushes anymore. During the war, the factory was owned by Glacier and was in London, but some Germans were trying to bomb it, so the factory was moved to Scotland, in an attempt to keep it out the way of the German bombers. The factory is still there, and is now owned by Mahle Engine Systems.... a German company ! steven. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GB3220DU-Glacier-Bush-32mm-ID-36mm-OD-20mm-Wide-/191917646573?hash=item2caf2ee2ed:g:P9EAAOSwzJ5Xf7on

I did some searching and came across your original thread Steven, nice work (from both now)
Strange why 125 and 500 ones are available, but not the more popular 2/350's, was also wondering if the 500 ones could be cut down by an ammateur and a hacksaw?

Frankly it would be a better solution to simply change to later Valvie forks that actually do feature Bushes. Much less flexy under braking too.

Probably a solution most of us don't wish to use though. Further investigation, it would appear the lower leg is bent, got them off someone on here, so not 'mine' so to speak. I had just cleaned/refinished ready to assemble and fit. When you actually feel around the bottom of the bush, it is slightly irregular with the fork leg and, sticks out a bit further one side (if that makes sense), that's the reason I thought, it had been driven in too deep. Still no answers why other model bushes are available

Still no answers why other model bushes are available As a pure guess I'd think the reason for the 250/350 bushes not being available now, (but the 125 and 500 ones are) is that Yamaha only made a certain amount of spares which are now used up. Seeing as the 250/350 was a more common bike, I assume the spares got used up quicker. Jon

The reason some are available is that they are standard sizes, the LCs are not.
The tool I made is much like Steven's, easy enough to do with a lathe and some time.
