Good evening from Finland! I am restoring my old war horse ('84 125 LC 10W) and I'm a bit confused about the colour. My bike is black and its fairings have been resprayed. Fuel tank is in factory paint but to me it seems like mk2 tank. All pics I have found with similar decals, are from mk2 bike, because the wheels are different and because the YPVS. Was this colour an option at the time, I wish it was, because it looks better than the older ones. But I am doing 100% original restauration, so the colours must match too... Mirrors and indicators are square type on my bike, when they came out? Here's a picture of my bike.

hi mate you have mk1 wheels and engine there, the mirrors are from the mk2 (we used to call em mickey mouse ears) and indicators mk2, the decals on the tank are also mk2,as for the colour here in the uk i dont think they did the mk1 in black, but i seem to think i have seen a french and swiss import mk1 in black.

Hi, this might help. www.rd350lc.net/STORY125FR.htmMaybe try lightly rubbing down either the tank or pannels to see what colour comes through. Some times, with a bit of research, the frame number may correspond with the colour. Enjoy the restoration

I think that tank is in original colour and side panels have been sanded many times. But I talked with my father, who bought this bike for me years ago from his friend, and he said that his friends daughter might have crashed the bike in somewhere early 90's. It is pretty much possible that local scrap yard has had mk2 parts. Well, I'll probably pick that '84 black, with red, white and blue stripe. I'm going to see one other RD this weekend to buy for parts... Although it is a complete bike with clean paperwork to register as well, only the engine in pieces... This is where my restoration goes
