Is this right for a mk2? Are Mk 1 & mk 2 master cylinders the same? They piston bore diameter is larger than 1/2 inch. If not anyone know what it is for. Cheers

Thanks Carl.
Just checked my fiche and it shows Mk3 & Mk1 the same pt number. So they are all the same for the 125lc?

I was sure the MK1 had a smaller master cylinder, it had a single piston caliper, so doesn't need to be as big?? The mk 2 onwards had a twin piston caliper

4L0-25850-02 for Mk1 1 & 3 I think. It looks like there is just one M/C. Here is a pic of one I sold a while back. Looks the same from the pics? It think everything looks OK now but I would just like a second opinion. Just to take a step back the initial reason for my doubt was that the overhaul kit I bought from Yamaha had a 1/2 " bore. I am going to challenge if this is the right part or not. Cheers

I stand corrected! I wonder what the small one I have in the garage is off! I think it's headed towards the pile of stuff which is taking up space for no reason i.e. the bin!

Right, Got the thing back apart again . Here is the old piston & seals (bottom) 5/8 " and the replacement piston and seals (top) 1/2 ". So it is 5/8 " but it ain't a 350lc master cylinder.

Gaz, I checked the pt number with Rob at York Yamaha and he recons it is correct . The part number changed from 4L0-W0041-00 to 23L-W0041-00 I have another kit somewhere which I bought for a 350lc and was 1/2". Gonna check out the pt number on that too if I can find it Still I think I am getting to a point where I am gonna re assemble it and fit it. It should work OK being 5/8". IF the brakes are a bit sharp I'll then think about swapping it.

Hi Gaz, That is perfect. Thanks for taking the time to do the pics. It is clear now that I have the wrong m/c . Something else to add to my wish list. I guess the other one will go back on the shelf till I find a use for it. Cheers
