250 LC wire

Hi I am restoring a RD 250 LC and seem to have a spare black wire with a male connector which I think is a earth.
The wire comes out of the loom next to the flasher relay multiplug on the left hand side of the bike in front of the battery box.

Any advice would be helpfull

deffinately an earth wire as are all black wires on lcs
cant remember what for though

Mine has 1 of those as well, doesn't seem to connect to anything.
