rd125lc mk2 rebuild

Hi guys I've been restoring a mk2 rd125lc and after lots of messing around it sprung into life sunday ! however i have issues it starts on choke and runs at about 3000 rpm then kinda dies ? but when i give it some throttle it comes back and revs but ticks over at 300 rpm ! again and then takes about 2 mins to come down to 1000 rpm ? everything has been checked and checked again ??

Have you rebuilt the engine? Worn rings and leaking crank seals can cause ruuning issues.
The carb setup can be tricky- has it been stripped, cleaned and float height been set correctly?
Also, has the reed valve block sealed? And what reeds are you using steel or fibre? I changed to steel because the fibre reeds were awful.
