when i give the old girl the beans and have throttle wide open and at top speed i noticed its started to bog down just suddenly loses power shut throttle of a bit and alls good thought it was plug cap as this was really lose but no change although it does seem to rev alot better any ideas

Sounds like it could fuel starvation to me ?. Like it can't quite supply the amount of fuel needed at full chat ?.
Tank cap breather, in-tank filter, in-line filter (if you've got one fitted ), main jet partly blocked ?.

must admit was/am in the process of changing in line filter tank breather cap how do i check this? after all this carb of and good clean if all else fails cheers pete.

You could take the fuel pipe off where it connects to the carb and check flow catching it into a container.
Or when riding, try the bike with a different fuel cap, or ride it quite low om fuel (so you don't get fuel slosh out) with the cap not tightened on fully. If air can't get into the tank through the cap, then fuel will gradually stop flowing out the from the tap.
The opening in a main jet can slowly get reduced over time with dried fuel. I have some jet cleaning tools that you can carefully run through jets and you often get a powdery stuff come out, then when you hold the jet back up to the light, you can see the hole is now bigger. A reduced opening in a main jet will normally only show a problem when riding hard when a lot of fuel is required.

main jet was partly blocked so hopefully thats it easy fix just waiting on new in line filter to come before we give her another try again, fingers crossed.
