Hi all,I have just replaced the throttle cable on my lc but now I can't get it to fire plenty spark and fuel,I have slackened the throttle cable on top of carbs right off and turned the tick over back a turn and a half. The plugs are quiet wet with petrol any advice would be gratefully received thanks in advance.

Have you synchronised the slides via the small sight holes?

Yes did that but just seemed to flood the plugs so slackened them right off

Did you put the slides in the right way round?

Are the slides coming to rest at the bottom, or stuck open?

They are resting on the bottom ,I thought the slides could only go in one way

I'm not 100% sure, I think the throttle slides are matching to each carb. This has caught people out before.

Sounds like it's could be flooded, take plugs out clean and dry them, kick bike over several times with petrol OFF and plugs out leave for a while helps fuel evaporate, sounds like there no reason it should'nt start spark fuel and it run before you put cable on HTH

Did you completely remove the carbs or just the tops when you replaced the cable?

Is the small rubber balance pipe connected between the two carbs?

I just took the tops off the carbs and the balance pipe is connected.I managed to get it going put a thimble of full in each cylinder but it is reving its head off the minute it starts up.think the slides must be jammed about half way

They can only go in one way because of the pin slot, but you can put them in the wrong carbs back to front.
Each slide has a chamfer on one side at the bottom, that will be at the rear (airbox side of the carb) when they are the correct way around.

Can you see the alignment dots in the Carb windows at nearly full throttle? If you can't the slides are in wrong, cut out to the rear airbox side.

It's a good job he didn't get a mate to give him a shove so he could bump it off.
