Hi All
Just got my LC back at last after running in and having the bike set up. All fine on the run home, but when trying to start it today, it seems like there is very little compression when kicking it over.
There appears to be fuel coming out of the breather pipe when I'm kicking it over. The engine has been fully rebuilt with new carbs, pistons etc.
Any obvious things to check?
Many thanks

Fuel is coming out of a side breather vent ?, or the overflow exit at the bottom of the float bowl ?.
LC don't really have high compression compared to some 2-strokes. Have you got a basic compression tester to get some idea of what you have on each cylinder ?.

It is coming from the bottom of the float bowl.
Don;t have a comp tester, but will get hold of one and check it.
Thanks for the quick reply

That'll be the float heights wrong then?

That'll be the float heights wrong then? Or the floats sticking Or the needle valve body O ring leaking Or the needle valve seat not sealing (could be worn or dirt on the seat/point)

Had a chance to have a look today - compression was fine and it's now started (probably bad technique)
But as it's on tickover there's petrol dripping out of the overflow pipe - not a lot but unsure if this is normal - carbs are new.
Thanks

No it's not normal, no petrol should be dripping out anywhere,
It's probably flooding which is why it's difficult to start ?.
If you've got petrol coming out of the overflow (with the bike running or not) it will be one of the following.....
Float heights wrong
Floats sticking
Needle valve body O ring leaking
Needle valve seat not sealing (could be worn or dirt on the seat/point)
It's a 5 minute job to check all those options once the carbs are off.
Or take them back if you paid for the carbs to be done ?.
