What you got to ask yourself do you need it? Is it obtainable? If not do many come up for sale? If you really need it and want it, pay the money and think about it later. Email the chap and ask if his open to offers but one thing as soon as you buy one a cheaper one will reveal itself.

There was one on eBay about two months ago that was brand new went for £42.00 and I think this eBay seller is a forum member and he is asking double the price for his one and the one being sold by old parts shop has been on for about 12 months it just p•sses me off his also selling the rear cover for clocks and you can buy that off norbo for £20.00 and his starting price is £20.00 and the reserve is not even meet yet

There a guy on flea bay selling a clocks surround for a mk2 and his reserve is £80.00 is he taking the mick or what Putting the 250/350 prices aside, there's quite a few cashing in on the single LC zone these days. It's similar to the fizzy explosion a few years back. Stupid prices. Makes it so tricky to restore a LC these day on a reasonable budget. NOS parts are becoming a rich man's game, some 2nd hand asking prices are becoming an insult and some still available Mr Yamaha parts are becoming a p*ss take. But saying that, there are a few Ebay sellers and forum members who are prepared to sell parts for a fair price.

I'm building a MK1 Escort and the parts for them are exactly the same very very expensive, A Mk1 Escort RS2000 is now around £30,000 - £40,000. I suppose with the cost of a nice sorted mint Rd125LC commanding £2000 - £2500 the parts value will rise too especially the rarer parts and that's just the way it is. I wouldn't pay or couldn't afford to pay £2500 for a nice Lc the same goes for the Mk1 Escort.

A few years back, during the fizzy silly price explosion, a forum member sold me some rare pre 77 parts: pedal type swinging-arm, speedo, clutch cover (worm gear side) gearbox, rear muddy and rack, pedal gear mechanism, Stanley rear light and stay. All these parts were and still will cost you a small fortune. I paid a gentleman's rate. He just said he was pleased to help a fellow forum member.

I have quite a bit of fizzy stuff including 3 spare engines, I had help of a lot of people on there so when a few needed engine parts I sent them off and didn't ask for a penny, same for postage.
Times are changing and it seems a lot are just in it for the money.
There are 5 of use with 125's now and we're out every Saturday (have been for the last 2 years) when we have a problem and someone needs a part it goes straight to the person in need with no if's buts or whys. (just like it was back in the early 1980's)
