Hi guys has anyone changed crank seals on YDS 7 , I'm just doing top end take down and think I should do seals at same time, any advice would be apreciated, thanks in advance

I have no experience of working on this fine model. Hope the air cooled chaps can help you. Firstly check whether the seals can be changed without splitting the crankcases. Try to see if you can still buy genuine seals. If you can get part numbers, your local Yamaha dealer will advise you on availability. It might be worth fitting the top end and see how it runs before changing seals.

engine out and crank cases need to be split, same set up as the C/D models, think the seals might actually be the same as well

they are the same seals as the A?B models and all models need to split the casing and you need to change both as they pinch so you cant fit old seals a second time even if 1 hasent gone it will if you re fit.
