i inherited my dads 250 lc and im just starting to learn about them!,
took her off the road about 6 months ago due to having a commuter and not affording for both to used, just before she had an mot and a litre of 2stroke oil in, checked her over the weekend, the 2 stroke is empty and the engine oil is virtually to the top of dipstick. any ideas of what it could be and how to fix it ? thanks

Oil pump leaking into the engine. You can get the pump refurbished by Arrow on here and you can also fit a new seal on the engine casing while it is off.

Yeah the safest option would be to get the oil pump refurbished and re-fit with a new seal but assuming the bike ran ok before ?, you probably only need to remove the r/h casing and fit a new oil pump seal.
You'll need fresh gearbox oil obviously.
If it were me, I'd be changing the water pump bearing and seal whilst you're in there (if you've no knowledge of them being changed recently), as it's a bit of an arse to remove the r/h casing.
Good luck

The pump might be in A1 condition, but as the guys have said this is due to the seal on the worm shaft. As said, you would be wise to do other jobs while you're in there.
