Blimey, your lawn's as immaculate as your bike, Yogi. Evergreen Feed & Weed I take it? Typical that a 51 year old bloke spots that...it wouldn't have happened a few years ago! I'm having the same dilemma about what size to fit without going too small. Is that 8x6 or 7x5, because it looks about right to my eyes? 8x6 is legal but do folk really get pulled over for a 7x5? I guess it all depends what mood they're in on the day, whether they got laid the night before, which way the wind's blowing, etc. etc.

Just folded up a piece of paper, 6x4 looks a pi$$ take, 7x5 looks close to right I'm thinking.

I prefer 7x5 but the polis don't ,a couple of mates just got £100 on the spot fines in Fife Scotland recently I had one on my busa , a motorcycle cop who was parked up jumped off his bike and ran across the road whilst I was waiting at lights where he threatened me with all sorts if he sees it again ,,, in my defence I explained a speed camera had me a while back so it must be eligible ,, that seemed to make matters worse !!

Ok on plate subject. Where is best to source one? Do you still have to provide all vehicle details and proof of who you are through dental records and such nonsense.. Thanks

I bought my (legal) one from here: www.showplatesdirect.com/?gclid=CIaPh8OO_8cCFdU_GwodLLsI3gSelect 'bike' and put your reg number in, then use the drop-down menu to choose size and style and you get an instant image showing how it looks. Quick delivery and no messing about having to produce your birth certificate etc.

There's really no need to pay silly money for a plate. I'm pretty sure they're all the same these days. Without a shadow of doubt, this is the guy to go for from Ebay... Number PlateI've just received a 8" x 6" from him which looks great. He does most other sizes. He can do a double border which I went for (like Yogi's in the photo - cheers for the idea), a slogan if you want (which I didn't)...all for under £7 delivered. He turned it around in one day, so two days after telling him what I wanted (on a Sunday night), it was fitted to the bike! That's what I call service!! Highly recommended

Highly recommended I got the same £6.49 free delivery ,told my mate he still insisted on paying £15 he even got the reg wrong(new bike) so paid another £15 all 3 plates are the same good quality .so under £7 for me everytime from now on

Always had 7x5 or 7x5.5, with bikes I think as long as it looks in proportion to the bike and is readable no ones gonna give it a second look but there are some serious pisstakers out there not only with the size but the placement too, I.e just above the rear hugger etc. don't know how they get away with it. Saying that on my old R1 out for a ride up round hawes and settle I hit a crest and jumped the thing completely by accident, compressed that hard the tyre hit the plate and shattered it in a million bits. I had no plate all day and must have ridden past about 7 coppers - not one even batted an eyelid.
