250/400 Gearbox compatibility

Hi All
I hope you forgive me for being an imposter as I usually spend my time on the LC/YPVS section of this site as I'm currently restoring one.
However, I'm selling a 250/400 E/F gearbox on Fleabay and someone has asked whether it would fit the 400 C/D model.
We're just talking about the shafts and cogs, no primary drive, so I'd really appreciate it if someone could confirm please.
I've tried the parts list links but they don't seem to work for me.

iirc they are different, but can't remember exactly what, I know the output shaft is different as the C/D has a different starter/idler gear arrangement than the E/F model, but I seem to remember other differences as well, but that could just be old age on my part !
