I don't know enough about them, what's up with it ?.
Looks like the engine number is possibly missing the lines ?.

Oh yeah I knew that but he says in the advert that it's a 1WT but built as a 31K ?.
Is that not posssibly then ?, tank fitment and frame lugs etc. ?.

Most probably is but the tank mounts are totally different, side panels are different, rear panel etc,the bikes all 31k as stated but my guess is it's all been rung onto a later frame number.as you say the engines got no lines on but does have 31k barrels.I personally wouldn't touch it

Yeah, would be very interesting to see if the frame has been modded to take the 31k stuff or is a ringer as you say

The engine number has certainly been stamped .. if it was a later bike rebuilt as a 31K LCII then there would be no need to change the engine number. Frame number will be stamped too no doubt

looks like a nice bike very clean . the engine numbers are not gen but I have a couple like this and 1 with no numbers at all so long as the frame numbers are ok at that price id have it if I was looking for a nice lc2 the paint looks munt even if he does say its far from perfect .

look's a nice enough bike , there are plenty of others on the market , not exactly rare enough to take a chance
btw , calling it a ringer seem's harsh

It does look clean from the photos and I'm sure someone will eventually bite, but instant alarm bells are ringing from the restamped engine number, as stated above. The guy also needs to learn to spell/punctuate and generally be less lazy when typing an ad, but I guess that's fairly normal these days (sadly) Back to junior school for him, as my 11 year old nephew has pointed out. Yes, it is a bugbear of mine!
