Finally found some time today to fit my new shorty levers; 20171228_120433 by David Miller, on Flickr 20171228_120420 by David Miller, on Flickr Master cylinder has the new mini reservoir, and the clutch perch is an Rgv item, as I bought the pair of levers to suit Rgv fitment. Really pleased with how they look - the levers are Mcspeed from ebay - seem really good quality billet machined. Need to sort some brake lines next Dusty

Looking nice!! sweet little reservoir
My OCD would be going crazy tho... Polished Brake Master cylinder and black clutch perch... ;-)
What lines are you looking at Dusty? I've been pausing over the Buy button on the Hel website but need to sort my levers first and figure out how it's going to be plumbed...

Cheers fellas. Hel are excellent Morgy. I've had lines from them in the past and I know Mouse used them for his valve hybrid and was very happy with the quality and service. I've got a place in my town called Think Automotive. They make lines up whilst you wait, and I was gonna see how much their Aeroquip lines would be. If not, then HEL will get my order probably. Dusty

First time I've heard of them Dusty but I had a look at the website. Let me know what they charge for a set of front lines when you pop over there, I'm interested to know if they'll be cheaper than HEL.

Levers seem really good quality Kev Less than ÂŁ60 for the pair. And I'm pleased with the fluid pot - so much neater than what I had originally. Alex -I think the Aeroquip hoses that Think Auto supply are swaged. I was going to remove the hoses from my other bike so they could copy them exactly, but I will get a price first. They used to be based near Twickenham, but recently moved even nearer to me so thought I would see what they can offer. I will let you know. Dusty

Hi Mark The white Lc only needs the front brakes bleeding. Then Mot and register it for a UK plate - I've got the Nova for it - it's a German frame. Only reason I haven't done the brakes yet is that I was going to take the lines to get them copied for the orange bike, and the local firm weren't set up due to them moving premisis. The orange bike needs the Lc loom fitting and modded for the Pv engine. 3 brake lines needed and brakes bled. Need to buy a fuel tap and fit the carbs which I will do once the loom is fitted as I have to loosen he airbox. Need a battery too Not much at all really Dusty

Hi Thinking of swapping the wheels between bikes now. I think the white wheels look "ok" with the orange paintwork but there was always a tiny seed of doubt in my mind. So I took a pic of the bike and coloured in the wheels black with a felt tip pen; 20180119_091426 by David Miller, on Flickr I think they suit the bike well, picking up the black in the decals. I have to consider what the white wheels will look like in the other bike too of course, but I've always liked white wheels in white bikes and have had a few like that in the past. Back last summer I did try some spare white bodywork on this bike to get an idea of the paintwork against the wheels; 20170810_140117 by David Miller, on Flickr Seems to work well I think. Bit more work to do then !! Dusty

Not sure what youâre saying about black wheels on the orange bike. I think really strongly that the orange bike looked a lot better with the white wheels.. however it doesnât mater really what I think, hybrids are all about what the owner thinks is best and the reality is whatever the colour of your wheels your bikes will always be showstoppers thatâs for sure! Cheers Dono

Hi Mark The wheels were powdercoated white when I had the blue bodywork fitted and I think they suited it then. When I had the orange done I wasn't convinced white was the best colour - it's ok but maybe black would be better. I could just swap all the bodywork over but I want the Lc hybrid to stay with the white/red scheme. Maybe I will try a bodywork change temporarily to get an idea. I've no worries that the white wheels will look good with the white scheme though. Dusty

As above Dusty the colour choice is down to your personal preference. Whatever they are two cracking looking bikes, well done.

Thank you This bike is now my priority , as the white bike is basically finished. Trouble with my knee means I cant do too much at the mo, but I did a couple of little jobs this morning that feel like a major achievement !! I managed to fit 2 out of 3 rim tapes to the rear wheel to see how it looks; 20180208_114135 by David Miller, on Flickr Really pleased with that. I think it adds some vital colour to the wheels. It has even more of an effect than the red tape on the white wheels I think. I also changed the red vinyl behind the engine case logo, for some orange that I got from my local vinyl/signs shop; . 20180208_114151 by David Miller, on Flickr It's a minor detail but important all the same. I've ordered 2 small "Ypvs" logos in black which I am gonna try on the rear tail cowl. I saw it on another hybrid and thought it looked good so I'm waiting for those at the mo. Another job I can do whilst my knee is bad is rebuild the front master cylinder that came off the other bike. This is a 14mm Nissin, so I've got to research if any 14mm Nissin rebuild kit will work, as I don't know what that master originally came from ! The Beringers that proved a pig to bleed due to the location of the bleed nipple will go onto this bike now, and obviously the front wheels need swapping over to match. Enough to keep me busy for the moment !! Dusty

Cheers Thought I would strip down the front brake master cylinder. This was originally on the white hybrid when I bought the bike, and although it looked good, it failed to work properly causing problems bleeding the brakes on that bike, so I had to swap the masters over so I could get the white Lc Mot'd. So I'm left with this one; 20180211_091623 by David Miller, on Flickr The cylinder looks good with no scoring or damage. Likewise, the seals look ok although a visual isn't a guarantee of how good they are of course. My problem is the cylinder is an unknown fitment and I wasn't sure that buying a 14mm rebuild kit would fit for definite. Lots of internet searching on Nissin master cylinders, plus ebay doesn't narrow it down at all either. I found a Gsxr750K3 master cylinder on ebay that is supposedly working fine for the same cost as a rebuild kit, so I've opted for that instead, and hope that my Rgv lever fits it - looks like it will. Hopefully I can make one good working master cylinder out of the 2 ! I've also changed the petrol cap from the black billet one , back to a standard alloy Yamaha one that I bought off ebay last year as a really tatty and scratched item. I spent some time removing the scratches with some fine sanding blocks, and then polished it up on the wheel; 20180210_112514 by David Miller, on Flickr Hopefully no venting issues using this one ! Jobs to do on this bike include fitting the loom and splicing in all the electrics (Lc loom, pv engine). I have a decent Lc loom but I am tempted by the newly made Lc looms you can buy through the Lc club. Once the loom is in, the carbs, which are ready to go, can be fitted. I've got to swap the front wheel over, and buy a speedo cable, and bleed front brakes. Rear brake needs a braided line and then bleeding. I'm also going to move the rear light back out slightly so it shines over the numberplate. Fit the Ht leads - I now have the correct crimping tool for the job. Need to buy a battery as well. And barring any mishaps, that should be it !! Dusty

I think moving the back light out is a good idea and in my opinion looks better slightly sticking out.

On this bike the rear light is mounted on a proper adjustable bracket, so easy enough to adjust. Don't need to move it out much. It looks like this at the mo; 20180211_133830 by David Miller, on Flickr And will move it back to here; 20180211_133842 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty

Moved the rear light out the other day. Initially I removed the plastic tool tray/ number plate holder, and fitted the adjustable light holder/number plate bracket, but it meant you were left with a big gap around the light lens which didn't look great. So the plastic unit went back on after I trimed the sides a bit more to allow the lens to poke out further; 20180213_155040 by David Miller, on Flickr Think it looks better now and will hopefully shine down onto the plate. The master cylinder I ordered arrived on Tuesday. Pleased with it so far - looks in better condition than my existing one. Bonus is it's a 5/8ths cylinder like my Rgv one on the other bike. At least I know what model bike this came from (Gsxr750 K3), so if I do need a seal kit I will know which one to order ! I'm going to strip it down and give it a good clean before adding the billet fluid pot and Rgv lever which fits fine (thankfully !!); 20180213_110152 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty
