Nice choice on the indicators Dusty. I also prefer your decision on the "black boxes". Neater than having them in the tail section.

Starting the electrics now. For reference, I am using an F2 Cdi; 20170921_155616 by David Miller, on Flickr A total of 9 wires come from this unit. The 3 pin plug and the 2 pin plug fit into corresponding plugs from the generator, so hopefully wont be touching those. That leaves the 4 way to deal with ! The cable from the generator has 9 wires too; 20170921_155544 by David Miller, on Flickr The Pv control box has 8 wires; 20170921_155450 by David Miller, on Flickr The control box for the pv needs to have the wires extending to reach the servo motor, which has a 5 pin connector; 20170921_155429 by David Miller, on Flickr My spares box turned up 3 correct connectors for the servo motor and controller, so will pick the best 2 and solder together; 20170921_155820 by David Miller, on Flickr There is also a 4 pin in that pic that will match the Cdi, so may not have to butcher the Cdi connector hopefully. I am following a Kojaycat colour wiring diagram for the F2, and I've ordered an Lc version which should be here tomorrow. They are easier to read than the black and white versions in the Haynes manuals. If anyone has hints or tips please feel free to add to the thread. I know there are a few guys interested in the process Dusty

Im convinced that the ypvs loom basically has the PV controller to servo sub loom that you want already inside it, its bound into the loom itself but i think its a seperate loom. I just need to remove one from an old loom to check tho, should have the connectors you need already and plug n play. can anyone confirm this?

I think you may be right Jon. I just don't want to hack out my decent F2 loom to find out !! The only part I'm not sure about with this pv sub loom is the Black wire with yellow tracer. The diagram shows the connection between the motor and control box - 5 wires, but the black/yellow appears to go to the Cdi as well ? I think you may need to run a separate black/yellow ? I need to check Bryan's helpful post to check; rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/41218/hybrid-wiringDusty

Hi Jonw Your idea regards the sub loom is correct; 20170924_170659 by David Miller, on Flickr I decided to strip my F2 loom after all, and the pv controller to pv servo motor is indeed a complete loom wound up inside the main loom, and it's the right length so I will re tape it and fit this rather than solder two spare halves together. I was just musing that even in the most bodged and trashed looms that these sub looms would probably be ok, its not like anyone undoes those connectors much and theyre hidden away from sun/salt etc.

haha! Just found an old 86-on loom here and removed the same sub-loom for my project, I had to rob the connectors from another dead loom but I have another piece of the puzzle once its all been cleaned up. Whats next Dusty?

I've now got a colour A3 wiring diagram for both the F2 and the Lc so I'm trying to make sure I get it all right first time. The sub loom for the pv's is easy but there is a black wire with yellow tracer that needs to go between the Cdi and pv controller so not sure where to splice that in yet. I'm lucky in the respect that all my connectors are intact on the Cdi and the pv controller, and the wiring from the genny. I've plugged in the 2 pin and 3 pin from the genny to the Cdi, leaving the 4 pin to be adapted. I've got some spare Lc cdi's so will cut the plugs off of them to use. Once I've got it all correct I will show detailed pics Dusty

I met Dave - Muttsnuts, at the Stafford show yesterday, and I collected my short ally cans that he made for me Really happy with them. I had the original Tsa cans on the pipes, but I felt they looked slightly too long; 20171015_133508 by David Miller, on Flickr 20171015_155054 by David Miller, on Flickr So I had the polishing wheel out today and blinged them up a bit, and I'm really pleased with how they look; 20171015_161352 by David Miller, on Flickr 20171015_161414 by David Miller, on Flickr Cant wait to hear how they sound Whilst I was in polishing mode, I gave the stainless lift handles a light polish - nothing too shiny though. And I bought a manky Yam alloy petrol cap a few months back before I bought Norbos alloy custom caps, so whilst the polisher was out I really went to town on it; 20171015_161255 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty

Cheers fellas Was a bit of a leap of faith with the orange paint but I'm really happy with the result. That's the good thing with building a special - you can deviate from a standard paint scheme and try something different ! And Mark Cordwell did such a great job of applying it too. Once I've finished the Lc hybrid, I will sort the last few jobs on this one - it's been unfinished for far too long !! Dusty

Really pleased with the cans . I first saw Mutts' pipes at Brands back in July on Yogi's and Karls bikes, and thought the short cans looked fantastic. They sound sooo nice too - a bit like old skool Microns to me. I got in touch with Mutts and he did the rest. They all lined up perfectly too for the 3 bolt fixing on the Tsa's. They are roughly half the length of the Tsa cans, and , for me anyway, shorter pipes suit the Lc better. Overall, the Tsa's with new cans are only 3 inches longer now than my small can Allspeeds. They were finished to a good standard too, but I did bling them up a bit on the polishing wheel, mainly to blend in with the polished stainless Tsa's. I was talking to Mouse on the way home from the show, and we were saying how lucky we are to have so many choices when it comes to buying pipes nowadays - and pipes that work really well too ! And tanks, and panels, and looms, and all the parts you can get from Norbo, both standard and trick. There has never been a better time to own an Lc or Pv. I was talking to a fella near me that bought a US import Gt250M - he had one when he was 17 - and the trouble he has had sourcing parts is unreal. The loom is badly bodged on it and he contacted "Ferret" from Practical Sportsbikes mag fame who quoted around £900 to repair it !! The metallic orange he has had the paintwork repainted in is the wrong shade- apparently it has to be Suzuki metallic orange, and the painter didn't have a clue, thinking it was just metallic orange !! Engine rebuild parts don't seem as easy to get as Yam stuff either. He couldn't believe it when I said what was available for ours now. The only difficulty now is finding one for sale that is affordable !! And glad your lad likes the paint - it does change shade depending what light it's in. Dusty

Looks really good now, can I ask how long the cans are please?? I bit the bullet yesterday, and for the same reason chopped down my pair of Lomas end cans. They won't end up as short overall as yours, but they were nearly coming past the rear wheel, it was starting to look like an MZ made the approx 150mm so not quite chopped in half.

Hi My new cans are 6 inches long. The Tsa's were about 11 inches I think so nearly half the length, which makes a huge difference to "the look", and probably the sound, especially as the ally will sound different to the carbon cans too. Dusty

Dusty its looking great, glad your happy with the cans LC_BOTT, they are 150mm long Thanks for all the kind words guys, its really appreciated, having to get some more ends made now for the cans, my dad ain't too happy as they take ages to make , he has bugger all better to do is what I tell him. Putting the chamfer on the outlet is a pain, so going forward they may end up just straight as that is much easier to do, might do the chamfer if really necessary but will be extra cost as its not a 2 minute job Anyway, top job Dusty, loving the Orange.......

So I've got "limited edition" tail pipes then Dave !! Really pleased. As I said, bolt straight on, everything lined up perfectly, and really well made. Couldn't be happier with them I think it transforms the look of the pipes overall, and if they sound like Karl's (oh5h1t) pipes I will be very happy Dusty
