I gave this MK3 a quick cosmetic freshen-up with a new paint job, based on a NOS German tank that had been scratched. This bike was a full-faired version from the continent. It took me nearly a year to find a decent quality chrome headlamp bracket and belly pan. I've had many of the nuts and bolts, the kick starter, bar end weights, rad cap re-coloured in gold just to make it stand out a little bit. I've not used any generic nuts or bolts (the engine case bolts are still Yamaha cross heads) Non original parts are the screen, braided brake hose and peg rubbers from RDLCCRAZY, some Baja grips just for the retro-look with the Magenta wheel paint. The seat cover is quality material used in the German car industry and covered by a retired friend who worked in the same industry. Front brake caliper has all new Yamaha components inside Otherwise under the skin she's all original, biggest surprise is the original swing-arm and exhaust paint (with grime where it's yet to be cleaned) and some wear according to mileage (28,700 summer kilometers)

Thanks for the feedback. I've still got the original Gold wheels in nice condition to go on any time. I might try these on a Black bike then

I'd bin the pink wheels too Michael. Either that or add a basket on the front for a dolly!!!!! Really unusual colour combo on the bodywork but suits it well.

The pink wheels were actually found on someone else's 1990s project with a horrendous light green and barbie pink bodywork. My Sons have a MK3 each and this was for my 7 year old daughter to have claim to her own. Below is the first one I owned in this colour scheme, note they should have a blue front mudguard and matching darker blue stripes I much prefer Yamaha's Gold wheels where they were available on any of the RDs to the Blacks Below was another one I did with same decals but with a pearl in the paint like the 350YPVS This bike now lives in Hull somewhere.
