hi guys, i have a 2nd engine thats came with my bike which i intend to convert to 175cc, as the barrell will have to be re-sleeved anyway should i be using the standard dt175 piston or could i get away with a +1mm (67mm) one? i know there is a 68mm piston available but would like a bit of scope for re-bore as well if the worst were to happen. Also the write up on the main page suggests the use of a TZ conrod kit, but which one? and is this direct fit or does it require work to make it fit? cheers Al

Not sure a standard 125lc barrel can be taken out to a 175/66mm bore. The usual is the autisa bb kit which was custom cast with a larger sleeve and the option to rebore a la dt pistons. The other way was a decked dt200 cylinder.

the standard cylinder can take a 66mm sleeve, and takes either a dt175 piston or a Yamaha blaster piston. it does how ever cause over heating problems.

Bigger radiator/electric fan be enough to solve these?

Bigger radiator/electric fan be enough to solve these? im gonna fit a fan from a yzf r125. its a tiny fan but really throws some air about and will fit to the rentec grill quite easily

Having seen an original yam cylinder resleeved to accept the 66mm piston in my opinion it cuts into the transfer area too much to be fully efficient .better to start with an autisa

Also the DT175 piston is very very heavy!!!
I used to use an IT175 piston as its much lighter but as choice is limited nowadays I would look at a Wiseco instead.
