Hi guys, New to the forum. Just bought a very sorry looking MK1 RD125LC to rebuild/restore so i've joined here for some inspiration when im knee deep in rounded bolts and rust! Collec the bike on saturday, from the looks of it its around 90% complete but very rough. It does however come with a spare motor in bits and an extra barrell so think i will have a go at building a decent spec 175 motor as well as an original one. I've been doing a bit of club racing (on a 400 4 stroke, boo hiss) but having a year out as im getting married and had a rather large off, snapping my bike in half! The RD is something relatively inexpensive to keep me busy in the garage until im racing again (on a much newer R6 with some road racing chucked in for good measure) and ive always wanted one. My last roadbike was a 99 R1 4XV, although its not all been diesels i previously owned an rgv250 that i never should have sold, DT125, KMX125 and an Aprilia RS. Once finished i'm planning on using the RD for the odd weekend blast and attending a few 2 stroke shows/meets and to sit in the garage looking pretty!

Thanks guys.Yeah was lucky to walk away from it, was more annoyed that i ruined my leathers than the damage i did to myself. fair bit of work to do but most the parts are there, should be a fun little project.

Thanks guys, yeah a bit of t-cut, a few hundred quid on parts and lots of time. Pretty excited to get started with it, only major part missing is a pipe. probably just gonna get the engine rebuilt and running before I start with sorting the chassis etc.

Thanks guys, i'm sure it'll get there. Plenty spare time on my hands between now and july so hoping to have it finished by then, which means it'll probably see the road some time in 2016

Thanks. Picked the bike up yesterday, really isn't as bad as it looked in the pictures and the engine turns over freely with plenty of compression. Plan on assembling the bike to see what I'm missing and what does/doesn't work before stripping it. Chrome on the forks is past it so need to decide whether to replace or have them stripped and re-plated. Tank and all panels look good and should be salvageable, no bellypan or nose fairing though. Came with a spare set of crankcases, 2 spare barrells, 2 cranks and a head so definitely enough to build a 175 motor later on.
